The beta went live this morning, for those with a Splinter Cell Conviction game, or other means of getting a code for the download. This isn’t old school Ghost Recon, but it’s also not the fast paced shooter game play from the usual subjects that have dominated the shooter genre for the last few years. Taken on it’s own merits, it may find it’s audience, although, graphically, the game doesn’t quite keep up to pace with current games. Time will tell if that’s due to being a beta or just a fact of life. The one given game type (as of today) is a progressive list of objectives to attack/defend, with respawns. It’s a fun way to play the game and may show promise for the other new game types. Mobility is very good, unlike any other Ghost Recon game. No killer 2″ steps or iron bushes. The cover mechanic is also very nice, as is the switch to first person for the gun view–even iron sights. Sound is excellent, with gunfire in particular being far better than previous games. The game picks up once you get used to the controls and add some attachments to your gun.
Here is some gameplay I recorded for those that can’t check it out for themselves yet:
The demo was released today and shows us more of what we loved from the original game, a cult classic Xbox title–yep, that means the black box. Like the original, this is more stealth game than typical shooter. Mobility is greatly improved, as are the graphics. The game wouldn’t be right without trip wire grenades, which seem to be back. Once again, they do no good on your belt, but make a great target. The rock throw seems like a cue from Splinter Cell Chaos Theory, a very nice addition.
The game is set to launch May 1, at $50. Some highlights I snatched from the demo:
Alright boys and girls, It looks like there is a new mode added to Ghost Recon.
Wil posted an interesting video about it and i gotta say, it has perked my ears.
Here is a video showing off the new mode
This mode is co-op (4 players)that will encounter 50 waves of enemies. With limited resources and swarms of enemies flanking you from all sides, you will have to be strategic to give you and your team the best shot at surviving. The first wave you have to secure an area quietly, then the next 9 you are attacked. This repeats 5 times per map. With the usual bonuses if you survive each wave.
I see this being a fun night on the ol’ xbox!
Now What gets me are those take downs! They are adding something completely new! Image if that is in MP? hehe. That makes me smile I tell you!
Thanks Wil for the heads up on this one! Great find

From various sources across the inter web, Sega is really having it hard
A quote from one site “Sega Sammy plans to record unexpected, or “extraordinary” losses of ¥7.1 billion (£54.3m), of which ¥4.9 billion (£37.5m) will be costs associated with its restructure.”
That’s a hefty pile of money to loose. They will record their biggest loss yet, so it compensate for this, they are pulling games and focusing on their big sellers, games like Sonic The Hedgehog, Football Manager, Total War and Aliens.
What games will they pull? Well that list is not out yet, once it does show up i will update this post.
OK so i have an issue in the featured articles. Looks like some jquery isnt loading.
Working on that now too god damn it!
Saw this over on kotaku
Looks like hackers can still get your info from your old xbox, even if you restored it
So what should you do if you want to get rid of your Xbox 360 but you don’t want your personal information compromised? Podhradsky recommends detaching your 360′s hard drive, hooking it up to your computer, and using a sanitization program like Darik’s Boot & Nuke to wipe everything out. Just reformatting the system isn’t enough.
